Welcome back Dr. Chu Manh Hoang
Dr Chu Manh Hoang just finished his postdoc at Tohoku University and come back to our lab. Welcome back Mr Hoang.

The second International Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (ICAMN2014)
October 29th - November 1st, 2014, Hanoi, Vietnam

The second International Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (ICAMN2014) will be held from October 29th to November 1st, 2014 in Hanoi. Encourgaged and sponsored by Vietnam National Foundation for Science and Technology (NAFOSTED), the event will feature with broad topics, keynote and invited speakers, covering the entire range of basic and applied aspects of materials science and nanotechnology. ICAMN2014 will offer opportunities for global scientists and Vietnamese materials research society to get together for the purpose of learning and exchanging information about new research results, ideas and finding new co-operations. Considering your research in related areas, we cordially invite you to join the conference and submit papers to ICAMN2014. See more:  http://www.itims.edu.vn/conf/ICAMN2014/

New facility for our laboratory
Thank to Dr. Vu Thu Hien, now we have new thermo system. The 1100°C Mini-Mite Tube Furnace (single zone) includes integrated digital control, single setpoint or multiple segment programmable. It offer a selection of control instrumentation including multiple segment programmable or single setpoint control.  All models
feature energy efficient Moldatherm® insulation for quick heat-up and cool-down.Some of it's application are: Pyrolysis, Thermal Expansion, Calibration, Sintering, Viscosity Testing,...

IWNA 2013
Assoc. Prof. Vu Ngoc Hung has an oral presentation about new design of tuning folk gyroscope and Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh presented about free-standing PZT cantilever at The 4th International Workshop on Nanotechnology and Application - IWNA 2013, 14-16 November, 2013, Vung Tau, Vietnam.

SPMS2013
At the 8th Vietnam National Conference on Solid state physics and materials Science (SPMS-2013), Nov. 2013, Thainguyen, Vietnam, our group has present latest research about piezo-materials and optical MEMS devices.

Thesis defence Pham Ngoc Thao: PZT thin film.

"Optimization of fabrication parameters of Ba-doped Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 thin films on TiN/Si substrates using Pulsed Laser Deposition Supervisor 1: Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Supervisor 2: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Ngoc Hung.

This thesis focuses on the aim of minimal disadvantage for oriented applications. The Pb0.9Ba0.1(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 films (PBZT, 10%wt Ba-doped) have been deposited on TiN-electrode buffered Si substrates by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) techique as the hopeful solutions. To obtain high-quality films with their good properties, the optimum electrode thickness and deposition temperature have been investigated. The results show that the properties of PBZT thin films are enhanced with increasing the thickness of TiN electrodes, due to the improving the electrode conductivity. Moreover, the optimal deposition temperature of PBZT thin film is observed at 565 C with Pr = 13.5 mC/cm2, Ec = 51.2 kV/cm, ε = 1030, d33,f = 60.0 pm/V for PBZT thin film on 150-nm-thick TiN electrode. These optimum parameters obtained in this thesis will be used to fabricate PBZT thin film as well as PZT thin films in general on TiN-electrodes buffered Si wafers (100, 150, and 200 mm diameter) at SolMateS company, University of Twente, The Netherlands.

Student Nguyen Tai defend his final project
On 15th June 2013, student of our group - Nguyen Tai - defended his student thesis.

911 Scholarship
Our lab have two PhD students: Mrs Nguyen Thi Quynh Chi and Mr Ngo Duc Quan. They recently got 911 scholarship from Vietnam Misnitry of Education. This scholarship will help them a lot during their time they're doing their research. Congratulation.

Dr Chu Manh Hoang go to Japan
Dr Chu Manh Hoang got a postdoc scholarship from Tohoku University, Japan and will be gone for 1 years.

ITIMS international conference
On the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of The International Training Institute for Materials Science - ITIMS, of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), ITIMS will hold an International Conference on Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology in Hanoi (ICAMN) from 13-th to 14-th of December, 2012. The Conference will provide a forum for scientists worldwide to exchange their research progress in the various exciting areas of advanced materials including synthesis and characterizations of advanced bulk and nano-scale dimensional materials, as well as on the nanotechnologies and applications. The Conference also aims to provide a possibility for exchange of experiences of international collaboration in these fields.Authors are invited to submit their abstracts/papers in the fields of nanomaterials, nanotechnology and applications.
